Not to mention he probably heard Levi's vague mentions of military and taking care of himself when Maddy had asked him where he learned first aid back when they were patching her up. So there's probably nothing really worse than can come if he just outright tells him.
But Levi still isn't sure which part he's supposed to play up to better fit in here. Soldier or criminal? Which would make people less suspicious? Does anybody actually care that much, aside from the few people who have expressed distaste toward police so far? It's possible that he's overthinking this for no reason.
