He might not even be up there. It's s sorely tempting tidbit of information, but Shaw is nothing if not practical, and she came out here with one purpose and one purpose only: to get Cohle to safety. She's not going to abandon the mission right in front of her to run off on another mission, one that might pan out but that is just as likely to be a wild goose chase. If Cohle wants to go back, then back he'll go. She'll complete the mission at hand, and then she can think about the cabin again. After all, if the guy (the lizard guy, what a trip) left this once, then surely he will again in the future. She has time.
