Points in the guy's favor, though. Kokichi trusts no one blindly, but it seems unlikely that Jet would be involved with whoever's responsible for the drones if he went so far to rescue people from them. Their friend the cop is notably absent, too. All of it gets filed away to muse on more once his head feels less foggy.
Giving a hollow laugh, Kokichi pushes himself up into a sitting position on shaky arms.
"Oh, totally," he says, bright and dry. "I love getting drugged and kidnapped!"

"Yeah? The cloud in your head's probably pretty bad, but the sorta metal-flavor in your mouth's probably best part, right?" He'd been drugged and kidnapped more than once in his life, it probably wasn't too different, right? "I'd offer you some water, but we're out. Ben's on his way to us with more." He steels himself and moves just inside the cell to hold a hand out for Kokichi to take. "Come on, sooner you're out of here, the better. No telling when these doors will close again."

Despite that comment, though, Kokichi sounds as cheery as ever – a little tired, maybe, but injecting plenty of pep into his voice – and he doesn't hesitate to make use of that hand. He tries to disguise the state of his ankle for the time being, doing his best to hide the limp as he exits the cell. Last thing he needs is fussy adults making him take it easy while there's important shit here to investigate.
So he wanders straight over to the computer terminal, leaning heavily on the table for support. He fishes his walkie-talkie out and sets it down to let the messages he'd missed start to play.
"Hey, hey, did you manage to figure out this password?" he asks, poking at the screen.

Jet follows back into the main area and hovers by the wall, arms crossing over his chest as he watches. "Nope. Not interested in alerting some system or someone watching the system that we're here and messing around. That assumes there's not some kill-objective in too many failed attempts at the password. No one else had any clues for what it could be."
Sol. 'No one else' being Sol.

"And what happened to Mr. Mustache? Ooh, did the drone just straight up kill him or something?"
no subject
He was usually a decent enough read of people, but definitely not perfect and stress like this? Often threw a lot of things out the window including reasonable responses. "He's on his way now with some water."
no subject
"Huh. Really?" He either unimpressed or distracted, glancing around the sides of the monitor just in case someone was dumb enough to leave something taped there. It's about that point when Ben's message begins playing, and Kokichi stops to listen to the pity party.
He's a liar himself. He knows when people are full of shit.
The smile that slips onto his face is...hard to read. A little amused, a little bitter. He shakes his head, snickering softly.
"Oh, he's soooooo faking it." He rolls his eyes and gets back to snooping. "I mean, could have guessed that from the start! No one likes a guy like me that much, and he's too shitty at being a responsible adult guardian to just be worried about kids in general."
no subject
"He claims to be a cop, but I've known some cops. That kind of response is usually beaten out of them before they're allowed to see the street." So they could more easily handle guys like him without flinching...something that didn't really jive with that little stunt in the forest. "He might be faking that too. You lie about one thing..." He shrugs.
"He's covering all his bases with it too, so he's dedicated to the act. Probably means he really doesn't want anyone sniffing around whatever secrets he thinks are important here."
no subject
"I can't possibly imagine what anyone would be so worried about hiding from a bunch of strangers!" The sarcasm is so thick he doesn't even bother pausing to call out his own lie. "I guess maybe if someone really wanted to gain people's trust for some reason and knew that'd be hard if they were honest..."
He lets that sit there in the air for a moment before snickering. "I wouldn't know! Supreme leaders of evil like me don't worry about stuff like 'being trusted'. It's only natural for people to distrust me, y'know?"
Funny, his laughter seems much lighter again suddenly despite all the babbling about evil.
no subject
It was worth noting, even if Kokichi read a lot more to him like a fucked up kid than a suped up and brainwashed cyborg. His gaze drops back to the pieces. None of them looked like anything he could reliably use...and certainly not without being able to look at his knee properly. Plus, he didn't need the aggravation of potential questions, so he puts the thought back out of his mind.
"Uh huh...well, as the supreme leader of evil, you monologue like the rest I've known...which means he really got under your skin. Sorry, then, I had to ask him to bring some water along so he'll likely be here by tonight."
no subject
It's...half a lie. It's not as if they were close enough to feel personally betrayed after just a few days, no more than Ben would reasonably be attached enough for this apparent breakdown in that same amount of time. But the vibes are absolutely rancid at the moment, and Kokichi doesn't like thinking about how long he was alone with that guy. He's suddenly glad for his own paranoia in avoiding sleep when he can and dozing in trees when he can't. He can't help but feel like someone might try to sneakily search his pockets if given an opportunity.
Absently, with a movement designed to look idle and incidental, he brushes a hand over one of the pockets in question. His lockpicks aren't large enough to be felt without actually putting a hand in, but he can still feel the hardness of the Electrobomb. That's good. It might be needed, if they encounter something like the drones again.
"Not that I want him around," Kokichi continues. "But I guess it's fine as long as he's bringing a decent tribute."
no subject
"Something like that. Don't expect he'll stay. He doesn't seem like the settle down for long kind. Anyway...I'll leave you to...whatever you're doing with those bits. Hope there's something useful in it." So the whole drone thing wasn't for nothing. He wasn't going to hold his breath.
