NOTES:
Senku is alone here on Day 10, but the rest of Team Science (Randvi and K, and I think Zam now) will come on Day 11. Idk when anyone else gets here.

By the end of day 10, thanks to the clay already acquired, Senku has built a rudimentary clay oven over a dug out fire pit. It's not much. He's using this to bake the ingredients necessary for soap, which he's glad to talk about.

By day 12, he should have also built a distiller. It does what you think: makes alcohol! It's not up and running yet because he has nothing to make alcohol with (unless someone brings him something or he finds something suitable; stay tuned), but it will exist!

He draws this roadmap in the sand/dirt every day (or leaves it if it's still legible). It's pretty big, so it would be visible.

He's probably cooking seaweed down and/or crushing seashells on any of these days.

Senku will enlist anyone's help with labour. He has absolutely no hesitation about doing this. He will straight up ask or he will bribe or he will trick people into doing things if that's what it takes. You need a stupid task for a character? Go on a little scavenger hunt mission? Crush some seashells? Make some soap? Stir a pot? He's got you. He's not shy in any way. You can interact with him at his top level or you have my full permission to assume Senku just assigned your character a task. He won't argue about it endlessly, though; if someone doesn't want to do something and he can't easily convince/trick them into it, he'll just shrug emoji and find someone/something else.

(If you're wondering about SOAP, he just has a little bar which is almost certainly down to, like, nothing. He won't share. He's making more but it will take a few days after the oven is built to actually, you know, become soap.)

If you've ever heard him talk on the network (he does it a lot!) and he's mentioned petrification or the Medusa, you can ask him about that too. He does have the Medusa device on him (it's nonfunctional for now?) and is fairly likely to show it to people he's talked to before.

Note: the one thing in his inventory that he just keeps on him and doesn't leave out anywhere is sufuric acid. IT'S DANGEROUS and he's aware of that, plus he doesn't have a ton of it. (It's one of his faves tho.)

Squalo Superbi // day 010 and onward // ota

Squalo might not stick around too long but he'll be offering help to Team Science including his wide array of tools and weapons for probably a few days at least, and looking to explore/do something dangerous most likely because of course.

He'll arrive Morning 010, and probably go to sleep after dumping off the following at Randvi's longhouse in IX.T.9:

- 4' long thigh bone - source indeterminant
- chunk of basalt
- chunk of quartz
- lump of charcoal
- sharp chunk of granite
- tuft of soft white fur, which turns almost completely translucent when held up in direct sunlight
- a chunk of copper ore
- a crude ring made of roughly-shaped iron, flecked with bits of rust and polished to a faint shine
- fake plastic log, 2 feet long
- employee badge - picture and most identifying markers have been faded away, but some writing is still faintly visible as saying, in English, ZOO

- two handfuls of electronics salvage
- a whole ass intact drone (4ft long), short-circuited

Senku and Randvi get the first pick of everything, but whatever they don't need will be left up for grabs since Squalo has no real use/interest in it.


He'll be exploring the airfield and all the other stuff on Day 10-11; you can catch him checking out the various buildings in the area, catching and/or cooking fish, chopping down trees for a ladder and whatever else tasks he may be given!

Morning 11

[After spending pretty much all of Day 10 swimming enemy rivers, Randvi had passed out almost immediately on her return, so she hasn't yet met the new arrival. She's heading to the river to set her snares when she spots him, and smiles politely]

Oh, hello.

[ Guess that makes two of them! Squalo had pretty much foregone sleeping in the last stretch of his trek here, so he'd definitely ended up sleeping more than intended as well. He's off to -- maybe look for fish, maybe check out some trees for chopping down -- when he runs into a woman and he thinks he has some idea who she is. ]

[ At least her clothes definitely look... not modern day. He grins, probably thinking he's being charming but it's mostly just a bit sharkish. ]

Hey. Randvi, right?

[It's said with good humour. This person isn't as strangely dressed as Senku, probably closer to Zam or K, but is immediately getting diagnosed ‘airplane person’ based on the size and uniformity of the stitching]

Yes, I'm Randvi. You must have arrived while I was away. Are those your things in the longhouse?

[ He's... probably out of the leather coat by now at least, sporting a simple black shirt, the right sleeve rolled up. The left one is at full length, and there's a leather glove on his left hand. His pants are rolled up but he's still in boots, too, the tops unlaced for some more air contact. His hair's put in a loose braid to keep it out of the way. ]

[ He would also be offended if he knew about the "airplane person" diagnosis even though he definitely is. ]

The place ain't exactly filled with women, so kinda, yea.

[ He did also recognize Senku pretty immediately, but he may not have been aware of K's existence at the time. Pretty much he expected to find only two people here, but, well. ]

Squalo. [ He introduces himself, offering a hand and everything because he has manners, damn it. ] I dropped them off, yeah, but you can keep it if ya want. I'm not taking any of it back.

Ah, Squalo. Well met. [Randvi reaches forward and clasps his elbow briefly, her people’s version of a handshake]

[Even if there were a hundred women here, she probably wouldn't pass for most of them in her roughly spun shirt and deerskin leggings. She's planning on cleaning today so she's not wearing her bracers, sleeves pushed to her elbows revealing the dark rings of tattoos around both arms. A blue water bottle, her radio (with a cute palm tree case), and a child’s red plastic pail hang from her belt by fishing line]

Thank you for the gifts. The fur you brought us reminds me of a bear we have in Norway. Did you see the creature it came from?

[ He looks momentarily confused, but recovers quickly and returns the gesture in the exact same way, as if he's been practicing for days. ]

No, unfortunately. I would've dragged it here too if I had. [ He winks at her playfully before his expression shifts to a more serious one again; ] I've never actually seen fur like that. Thought it might be something weird again... though I s'ppose a polar bear on this island would be weird, too.

[Randvi laughs appreciatively]

I should have liked to have seen that! My sister felled one before her wedding and they are quite large. I was surprised to see how the fur looks, held up to the light.

[As if she's just remembered] Oh, right. [She's pretty sure it's him, but she does have her principles] Senku probably forgot to ask you. Can you send me a message?

Heh, yeah. I wouldn't have guessed it could come from somethin' as normal as a bear.

[ He raises an eyebrow slightly at the request, but fishes his radio out of his pocket anyway. ]

Ya know, if you wanted my number you could just say so. [ He seems to be using only his right hand to type and navigate the device, but it doesn't take too long before a laconic message ";)" from SH442K pops up in Randvi's radio. ]

[ He frowns slightly, the implication not lost on him but he has to admit he honestly wasn't expecting anybody to try to switch them out. But they probably could, huh? ]

If they're monitoring us on here and wanted eyes in our camp, they could. Most of us have not seen one another in person.

I would've expected something more advanced from them, but you've got a point.

[ Just because they had some fancy drones and shit didn't mean they actually were able to survey the island properly... but also weren't they supposed not to be able to get here? But then, could they trust whoever HE412T was speaking to? Maybe that's exactly what their enemy wants them to think. ]

I'd like to see 'em trying to fake this, though. [ He thumbs at himself, grinning, maybe puffing out his chest a little to emphasize how great he is, just the usual. ] Oh yeah-- I found these, you want them?

[ Aaaaand he's presenting her with a small bouquet of lavender. Who said romance is dead? ]

[There are so many factions here already, who knows what they would do? Not to mention that it's not certain whether they can even trust all of their own people to be who they say they are]

I'm not sure how much of a risk it truly is, but I promise people safety here. I have to take it seriously.

[Congratluations, Squalo, the flowers catch her off guard enough to make her blush just a little. Randvi hasn't had the opportunity to experience courtship since she’d met her husband at their wedding and he'd never really needed to win her over]

[ They probably can't... not that Squalo has said who he is, necessarily. On the bright side, he's a genuine team player when it matters, so it's not all bad. ]

[ He grins at her reaction, happily handing over the flowers, looking pretty damn pleased with himself. Although his expression does momentarily shift into a frown afterward. He's gleaned enough about vikings from popular culture to have a guess why she'd promise something like that, which seems impossible in a place like this, but... ]

That's a custom of your people, yeah? Guests' right or somethin'? [ Except this island had a ton of unfamiliar dangers, it seems. ] It's a big task for one person.

On the surface it's different, but in many ways this place is similar to Norway. The climate is harsh, the animals and bandits on the road are dangerous. If people avoid shelter because it feels unsafe, they won't survive.

Perhaps it is a big task, but it's necessary to me.

I've no complaints about the weather. [ At least there's no snow or immediate threat of hypothermia here. But then, finding clean water is probably more difficult here. ] The place does leave some things to be desired though.

What if some complete asshole shows up?

It's lovely to look at, but much too hot. I don't know why anyone would come here for fun.

[Ben is an idiot and a coward, but she really doesn't think he's violent. Aside from a few scares with new people, the ones with radios haven't been that bad so far and she's aiming to keep it that way]

If anyone won't respect the peace here, they'll answer to me.

[It looks decorative (it was a wedding present) but her hammer has tasted the blood of people who have threatened the safety of her settlement in the past.]

[ Squalo knows how to handle Mediterranean heat, so he's probably better off in that regard, but he still laments the lack of deodorant and real toothpaste. He didn't sign up for a shitty Survivor knock-off. ]

People get used to different temperatures. This is close to my hometown in summer. [ He gives her a half-smirk. ] But you've got a point. Folks who travel to these places for fun usually spend half the day in the water and have cool drinks served to them the entire time.

[ It seems he has a dilemma, though. He definitely wants to beat up Ben for causing damages to his reputation, but he definitely doesn't want to piss off Randvi in the process. Okay, maybe it would get him an actual fight from her, but he wants her to like him while they try to kill each other! ]

What if they didn't respect the peace earlier? Shouldn't they still be held responsible?

It is difficult to imagine. Even England in summer is a bit much for me.

[Regarding his second point, Levi is kidnapping Senku basically as they speak so she's going to need to figure it out. For now, her eyes narrow in suspicion]

Such a thing has not yet happened here, to my knowledge. I can only enforce peace in the village, you're correct about the island being too large. Has someone wronged you, Squalo? Or are you speaking in theory.

[ Sicily definitely didn't have jungle, at least. ]

[ Hopefully she figures it out in a way that benefits Squalo, then. ]

Let's say there's a guy who insulted my honor that I'm itching to punch. [ Possibly more than one, but considering the other one is a kid, he'll not advertise that for now. ] I can take him out into the jungle if that works better?..

[ He might be a murderer for hire, but his sportsmanship is excellent, actually! Professionals have standards. Hell, he's been known to improve the odds of his enemy if it looked like the fight wouldn't be entertaining enough otherwise. ]
