Night 25-???

He wasn't all that much of a stranger to long walks, but it had been awhile since he'd walked through an entire day. He got a few hours of sleep in a bungalow, but he still looks exhausted by the time he arrives.
The dream he had--or didn't have, rather, kinda shook him up. No tower, no blue-faced winged jester telling him to kill people. He hadn't dreamed at all. So that must have meant the Festival was over, but what that meant eluded him. Was this a further trick of Per'kele and Rher? Or this was whatever was in that bunker, which he had even less of an idea about. There was a lot to think about, but for now he's just tired and very hungry. And psyching himself up to talk to whoever is here.

She shrugs.

"I was inside for most of it. It was kind of like I'd picture a tornado would be, with junk flying all over the place. No houses or shiny red slippers though, that I could see."

Levi doesn't get the ruby slipper thing, but whatever. People said a lot of things he didn't get and it wasn't usually an issue. "What's this place been like otherwise? When its not storming."

"...Warm?" She's not sure what specifically he's asking, but that's the first answer that comes to mind.

"The animals are weird and there are some hostile natives, but otherwise it's a pretty normal island. I think. I'm not exactly an expert." She doesn't travel much. What's normal for an island?

"You mean hot," he grumbles. Levi wasn't used to heat like this.

"I don't really know islands either. I've never even been to the ocean before this."

'Hot' is probably correct, but given the dangers of exposure overnight Steph can appreciate the heat.

"Me neither. Gotham's got a bay, but it's..." She makes a face. "It's not a place you visit," she concludes.

"I grew up by a lake, but its not nearly the same sort of thing. It wasn't all that great either."

"Super gross pollution? Or just kind of boring?" She shouldn't sound so excited about gross pollution, but she has very few people to actually relate to around here. Besides, she's always thought lakes seemed like they would be boring.

"I don't think it was that polluted." They wouldn't have baptized kids there if it was, would they? He's not really sure the church would care though. "It was always just kinda creepy. They used to...well, never mind."

"Used to what?" she asks curiously. Whatever it is, he must think it's weird, but it can't possibly be weirder than some of the stuff that's happened in Gotham.

"Host Bible camp? Throw crazy parties? Sacrifice babies?" Come on, man. You can't scare Steph.

"That last one. Only they probably weren't always babies."

[ichoosefight]

"Oh, frick," is her response, in approximately the same tone she'd used to make the guess.

"I think babies is probably the worst. Hard to say." It's pretty awful to sacrifice anyone, willing, unwilling, or even unaware. "Is that, like, still going on...?"

He looks away, finding a particular spot on the ground rather interesting apparently. "Not at the lake..."

Well, that's bad. Steph stands there for a moment, resting her hands awkwardly propped on her hips while she watches him and considers such a situation.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit on a sore spot."

[solitarysoul]

"Its, uh..." Well, Its not fine, "..I'm not there anymore. And I don't think Prehevil had enough people left to sacrifice when I left."

At least he really, really hopes the contestants left who didn't go into the bunker wouldn't do that. None of them had seemed like the kind of people who would, but the voices telling him to kill only got stronger as time went on. It was probably the same for them.

"People don't really do that anymore in other places. Prehevil--uh, that's where I'm from--was always really old fashioned."

"I'm sorry," she repeats gently, folding her arms as if hugging herself.

"I wish I could help... If I can find a way to get there, I will."

"You can't." Its mater of fact; n against whatever Steph can do, it's just too much going on there for too long. It was all to systematic to be changed easily.

But, well, wiping the place clean kind of did that.

"It doesn't matter anymore, anyway. No one's there anymore. Nobody from there."

She watches him for a moment with a light frown, not sure what to say. As conversations go, this one is not great.

"... Um, I don't think I got your name," is what she ultimately goes with.

"Oh, sorry. I'm Levi."

[ichoosefight]

"Well, it's nice to meet you Levi. And welcome to the airfield." She smiles.

[solitarysoul]

"You too. Thanks." He smiles back but it doesn't reach his eyes. Too focused on the past at the moment, but he doesn't blame her for it.

Hey, she'll take it. Still, she should probably give him some space to deal with his memories however he... usually does that.

"I'll leave you to your exploring. But feel free to ask if there's anything you need."

[solitarysoul]

He nods, "Okay. I don't think I need anything right now."

[ichoosefight]

"Alright, well, I'll be around. Later."

She slips quietly away.
